The hertfordshire-based company dominates local business awards with nominations for international trade, staff wellbeing and diversity and inclusion

A Hertfordshire-based company specialising in clinical trial patient recruitment, retention and engagement, is celebrating after being shortlisted for not one but four local business awards.

Innovative Trials, which works with some of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical organisations to help facilitate faster access to life-changing treatments for patients, has been named a finalist in four separate categories of the annual Inspiring Herts Awards:

  • Business of the Year (Medium to Large)
  • Excellence in International Trade
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Workplace Wellbeing

Kate Shaw, CEO of Innovative Trials, said: “We are delighted to receive this local recognition – Innovative Trials may be a global company, but we have strong roots in Hertfordshire. It is where our story began in 2010 and where we continue to base our global operations.

“These Inspiring Herts Award nominations are a testament to the hard work of the entire Innovative Trials family who always strive to make a difference for clients and each other. We are especially excited to be named a finalist in the Excellence in International Trade category, which follows the opening of our first international office in the US last year and is already helping to change the game in terms of being able to deliver high-quality support for our clients in North America.”

Innovative Trials was founded by Kate Shaw and Dave Watkins in 2010 and has grown into a global, multi-million-pound business with its headquarters in Letchworth Garden City. It opened its first international office in the US in 2022 and works with more than 70 clinical trial specialists in over 70 countries to support the recruitment of people into clinical trials.

The company supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and Clinical Research Organisations to accelerate patient recruitment for clinical trials and has played a part in six new treatments being approved for patients worldwide.

Shaw added: “We face strong competition from other outstanding organisations, but look forward to celebrating all of the finalists and their achievements at the awards ceremony.”

The Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards is an annual event organised by the county’s Chamber of Commerce. Winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner on Thursday 22 June 2023.
